FAQ
Pricing, answered plainly
- Is the free plan really free forever?
- Yes. The create and check endpoints have no fees, no paid tiers and no account requirement. There is no trial period and no usage cap you have to pay to lift.
- Do you charge per verification, per user or per seat?
- No. There are no per-verification, per-user or per-seat fees. Fair-use rate limits exist to keep the service healthy for everyone — they are a protection, not a paywall.
- What are the actual rate limits?
- 100 requests per 60 seconds per IP across the API, and 20 requests per 60 seconds per IP on the auth endpoints. For status polling, a 2–5 second interval is plenty.
- What if the institution does not provide an authIdentifier?
- Some institutions only issue a transient identifier, so authIdentifier can be null — that is a normal, supported outcome, not a failed login. The user still authenticated at a real institution, and entityId always tells you which one. Use entityId for eligibility decisions and a per-session token for continuity.
- Are there setup fees, minimums or lock-in?
- None. No setup fees, no minimum spend, no exit fees. Studid uses standard SAML 2.0 and an open-source plugin, so your integration follows open standards rather than a proprietary SDK.
